BREAKING: “I Will Not Step Down,”Saraki Says APC Cannot Impeach Him

Published

Leader of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has again reacted unequivocally to calls for him to leave or get denounced, flaunting that the restriction does not have the numbers to indict him as the leader of the upper administrative chamber.

While addressing writers in Minna, Niger State on Sunday, September 16, 2018, the legislator, a presidential hopeful, said it’s unimaginable for him to venture down.

As far back as Saraki dumped the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) for the restriction People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in July, the decision party has driven the charge for him to be impugned as pioneer of the Senate a few times.

Accordingly, Saraki said the gathering does not have the larger part required to impugn him and said he won’t venture down as that would comprise acting in close to home intrigue.

He stated, “The APC individuals realize that we are in the lion’s share and whatever they need to do they realize that they don’t have the number.

“The other kite they are attempting to fly is requesting that I venture down from my seat, yet I can reveal to you this can’t be conceivable as I won’t venture down.

“One thing is clear and that is to state that I won’t forfeit the enthusiasm of the nation for my own advantage and over the most recent three years as a Senate president, I have shown that my advantage is second to that of national intrigue.

PDP accuses FG, APC of plot to overthrow Saraki through court order

Published

Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Federal Government of shopping for what it called a fraudulent interim court order to declare vacant, the seat of the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, following his defection from the APC to the PDP.
The PDP in a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, yesterday, alerted that credible information at its disposal showed that some cabals in the Presidency and APC had perfected a plan to institute a lawsuit to challenge the validity of Saraki’s seat with the sole aim of securing a fraudulent injunction to force him out of office pending the determination of the substantive suit.
“Further intelligence available to us shows that once they are able to secure the injunction from a particular compromised judicial officer, they intend to arraign and detain the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on trumped up charges and ensure he is not granted bail so as to keep him out of circulation while their men would move in to effect an illegal leadership change in the Senate.”
The PDP further said that while it trusts that the Chief Justice of Nigeria will protect the sanctity of our judiciary especially at this trying times in our national history, it called on the institution of the judiciary at all levels to immune itself from being used by enemies of our democracy, as no house falls leaving its roof standing.
“This desperation by despotic forces to forcefully and illegally take control of the Senate, the highest symbol of our Democratic Order, is nothing short of “civilianised coup” which must be resisted by all.
“The judiciary must, therefore, ensure that it is not intimidated or ensnared to be party to a desperate bid to destabilise our nation.
The PDP stated that “this newest devilish plot to destabilise our democracy lays credence to our earlier stand that President Buhari’s supposed London vacation is a ploy to absolve himself of responsibility for the political terror they have plotted to unleash on the opposition, especially the National Assembly.”
“Although they denied it as usual, Nigerians can bear witness to the fact that there is nothing the APC government denied that they did not eventually execute.
Indeed, there has never been any impunity they executed that they did not deny.”
According to the opposition party, “The recent rascally attempt to hold Saraki and Ekweremadu hostage in their homes on July 24, 2018 as well as the terrorisation of the Benue State House of Assembly after Governor Samuel Ortom’s, defection bear sad testimony to this fact.
We, therefore, call on Nigerians and the international community to be on the alert as the conspirators plan to commence the execution of this evil plot from Tuesday next week.
The PDP cautioned the APC and others “in this evil ring to note that they are now running on a collision course with Nigerians as the citizens will definitely not fold their hands and watch them destroy our hard earned democracy and foist a fascism on our dear nation.”

Discussion Time!!! Which Of These PDP Members Can Give Buhari A Tough Challenge In 2019 Elections?

The way things are going, 2019 election is going to be a tough one.
Nigeria is about to experience real political game with politicians making serious moves to secure a political office come 2019. It’s going to be survival of the smartest.

As ruling party, there is no doubt that APC is at great advantage to win the election. With Buhari as President, they are in control of armed forces and agencies that are meant to make the election hitch-free. It’s called power of the incumbent.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party are hungry to snatch back the power from ruling APC but are obviously faced with the difficulty of choosing a worthy candidate, credible enough to challenge Buhari’s APC in 2019.

In the aftermath of Senate President Bukola Saraki’s exit from the ruling party, All Progressive Congress to Peoples Democratic Party, the number of PDP’s potential candidate has increased by one.

But which politician under PDP can really give Buhari a run in 2019?
As it stands now, below are the PDP’s possible options:-

It is no longer news that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is so much interested in the Presidential seat in 2019 but he’s got to fight for the ticket within his party.

The former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso has defected to PDP with his eye on the presidential ticket. Following his political antecedents and his performance in Kano as Governor, Kwankwaso is another good option for PDP.
Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal who just dumped APC will be seeking to continue is political ambition with PDP. He has also been referred to as one of the strong options PDP has to challenge Buhari in 2019.
Following his defection to PDP yesterday from APC, there are speculations that Senate President Bukola Saraki could challenge Atiku to contest for PDP’s presidential ticket.

‘You Have To Step DOWN!’- Oshiomhole Orders Saraki After Defection (Agree Or Disagree??

Published

By

Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to step down.

Speaking with journalists after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and some APC senators in Abuja on Wednesday, the party chairman said the senate president collected a crown that belonged to a family to wear in another.

On Tuesday, Saraki defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Oshiomhole said the senate president must return the crown to the house where it belongs, since the APC is still the largest party in the senate.

“Nobody in the APC will be surprised about the development. In fact, they have stayed little bit longer than we thought. Last week, the Kwara state governor said he was leaving but he didn’t say when. So, we are not surprised at all,” he said.
“But these are what I might call temping moments because I had faced similar situations in my state when people were leaving. But the beauty of democracy is that whether big or small, it is one man one vote on election day, no difference between a senator, a president, a journalist and any other person.
“In a sense, we have to accept that once a couple for any reason or the other find that they not compatible, the only honourable thing is to go.”
