Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde last Monday revealed that he fought coronavirus with carrots, vitamin C, and Blackseed oil with honey while in isolation. The governor disclosed this in Ibadan during an interview with an FM station.

The governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde who was reported to be positive for coronavirus last week has shared his experience and revealed exactly what he took to ease off the virus from his system which is Blackseed oil. On Monday this week, he announced that he had become negative after a series of tests. The governor said he only made efforts to spice up his immunity and used his time in isolation to exercise on the treadmill regularly.

Makinde said in boosting his immunity to fight coronavirus, and he consumed vitamin C, carrots, and black seed oil mixed with honey.

He said:
“My excellent friend and brother, Dr. Muyideen Olatunji, is that the one responsible for the first healthcare for Oyo State. He came to me and said, look, I am going to send you this black seed oil. It boosts immunity. So, I mixed it with honey and took one teaspoon within the morning and one within the evening. So, there are local solutions to spice up immunity.

Our people should not panic; even as I have been ready to get the virus out off my system, so will it is for the majority of our people.

“I’ve lost a little bit of weight which I think is good. When you’re in isolation, the tendency is just to watch television and eat, I was eating amala. But I was also using the treadmill. It has also been a
period to reflect and look at the programs, policies and the things we
want to do for the people of Oyo state and also reflect on how the
COVID-19 is going to affect us socially and economically.”

He faulted the Federal Government’s palliative measures in the state, saying;

“Two days ago in the task force meeting, the Head of Service told me that the conditional cash transfer from the Federal Government would be N20, 000 to people in 10 local government areas of Oyo State and I said, it’s good, but this program predates this administration and I’ve never been impressed for one day about the way they identified the poorest and the impact.

“They’ve been making noise in the newspapers that they have some items for us. So, I sent the people at the liaison office. The first day at the Nigerian Governors’ Forums’ meeting, I was told those items were taken to liaison offices. So, I called the liaison office in Abuja and asked, did you receive anything, but they said no.”

Pastor David Ibiyeomi, has claimed that there is no coronavirus in Nigeria, adding that the virus is just an avenue for our leaders to steal.

Pastor David Ibiyeomi while speaking further, said that malaria kills more people and yet our border was not closed because of malaria.

He referenced DAAR Communications founder, Raymond Dokpesi who said he was given Malaria drugs when he was being treated for COVID-19 in an isolation centre.

Speaking from the pulpit, he said: “I told the people, what is Coronavirus? Coronavirus is only a virus that is Corona.”

He added: “People are making noise about Coronavirus. To me, it’s rubbish. Malaria, did we make noise about malaria?

“Malaria kills more people in Nigeria than Coronavirus. Everyday people die of malaria. So what are we talking about Coronavirus, closing border up and down for what?

“Nigeria does not even have it. I don’t think Nigeria has it.

“Because you’ve heard Dokpesi, he said that they say he had it, it’s malaria tablet they gave him. So, if it’s Coronavirus, why will they give him a malaria tablet?

“Nigeria, they’re using it to eat money, eat money. Governors eat money, corporations eat money, they tell lies, they’ll take money from federal aid. Government, they’ll take money from aid…”

He also claimed that the Nigerian government is intentionally exaggerating the number of people who have the disease.

“In Nigeria, the people who have it, I don’t think they are up to the number they’re calling. The number they’re calling, I don’t think it’s the number. When one person has high temperature, fever, they’ll say ‘it’s Corona, quarantine him’.”
