“Isaac Fayose Speaks Out: The Harsh Reality of Oppression in VeryDarkMan’s Case”
Social media commentator Isaac Fayose asserts that the police’s decision to detain renowned activist VeryDarkMan for more than 24 hours amounts to oppression.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the sibling of the former governor of Ekiti state argues that detentions in Nigeria should never exceed a 24-hour period.
However, VeryDarkMan has been detained for over five days without a court order.
He questioned why, despite meeting all requirements and more, the police were keeping him in custody.
Isaac emphasized that although they have the right to accuse him of a crime, they must still formally charge him. He argued that keeping VeryDarkMan in custody through Easter constitutes oppression, suppression, and stifling of people’s voices, which is detrimental to a nation.
Isaac called for VeryDarkMan’s release and advised people to prioritize doing good and avoid seeking harmful revenge against others.
