F.A CUP: Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez scores extratime screamer in 2-1 win over Man City to set up epic final with Chelsea

Arsenal are through to the English F.A Cup final after Alexis Sanchez’s extra time goal following a defensive mix up in Man City’s penalty box ensured Arsene Wenger’s men will face Chelsea in a mouth watering London derby final.
Arsenal’s Koschielny and Man City substitute, Raheem Sterling had goals ruled out in the first-half for offside, but that didn’t deter Pep Guardiola’s men as Sergio Aguero at the half hour mark put his side into the lead after a legendary assist from Ivory Coast legend Yaya Toure.
It took quite some time before Arsenal responded, with gunners left-back Nacho Monreal slashing in a right footed cross following a cross from the right wing in the 70th minute. Both teams couldn’t muster a win before the end of normal time and in the 101th minute of extra-time- Arsene Wenger showed that if he were to leave the club, he will surely leave A HERO!.

Mesut Ozil had a free-kick, it got headed down by Koscielny. Danny Welbeck tried to clear it off but fluffed his lines, Gael Clichy, former Arsenal player, tried too, but missed.

Then the moment of glory came, as star man Alexis Sanchez, acted quicker than Man City captain Vincent Kompany, taking the ball off his toes with his first touch, before he smashed the ball into the net with his second touch.

Arsenal will now face Chelsea in the F.A Cup final, and maybe, just maybe…Arsene Wenger, coach of Arsenal since 1996 might leave the club on a high…..

Arsenal have beaten Chelsea 2-1 to win the 2020 English FA Cup after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice, and have now qualified for Europa League.

Aubameyang was Arsenal’s man of the match, as he stole the show again just like he did against Manchester City.

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic scored an opener on the 5th minute.

Arsenal’s former player, Olivier Giroud came through with an amazing assist after he squared it to Christian Pulisic, who beats Emiliano Martinez with a brilliant shot into the bottom left corner.

However, the Gunners got a penalty on 28th minute after VAR ruled so.

Aubameyang scored an amazing equalizer after he netted the penalty kick past Wilfredo Caballero into right side of the goal to restore parity.

On 67th minute, Aubameyang scored his brace to win it for Arsenal.

He collected a pass and from inside the box, he lifted the ball over Wilfredo Caballero, who was off his line for a great finish.

Arsenal having failed to qualify for the Champions League and Europa League needed to win the FA Cup to zoom into Europa championship.

Frank Lampard current Chelsea Manager has praised Arsenal over their appointment of Mikel Arteta as head coach. Former Arsenal midfielder Arteta was announced as the new Arsenal boss on Friday afternoon. Before joining Arsenal, Arteta had flourished as Pep Guardiola’s assistant, helping City win back-to-back Premier League titles.

Frank Lampard believes Mikel Arteta will be a ‘positive appointment’ by Arsenal, who have been coached by interim boss Freddie Ljungberg since Unai Emery’s sacking at the end of last month. Everton are also on the verge of appointing a new manager, with former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti set to be named as Marco Silva’s permanent replacement at Goodison Park. Asked about Arsenal and Everton’s moves for Arteta and Ancelotti, Lampard said: ‘Nothing surprises me and those two don’t.

‘I know the credentials of Carlo, he is a fantastic man. Arteta is obviously in a different stage of his career. ‘What I’ve heard about him, I think it will be a really positive appointment for Arsenal if they make that.’ Lampard’s Chelsea enjoyed a superb start to the season but have lost four of their last five Premier League matches ahead of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham.
Spurs have climbed up the table since Jose Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino and will move above Chelsea into fourth if they come out on top this weekend. Arsenal, meanwhile, are just tenth in the English top-flight ahead of Saturday’s trip to Everton. Arteta is expected to watch Arsenal’s clash with Everton from the stands, with Freddie Ljungberg taking charge of the team for one last time.

Arsenal Confirm the Appointment of Mikel Arteta as New head Coach

Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Mikel Arteta as their new head coach after the Spaniard emerged as the outstanding candidate in their search for a permanent successor to Unai Emery.

The 37-year-old spent five years as a player at the north London club, captaining the side and winning two FA Cups, before he hung up his boots in 2016 to join Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant. Arteta has been credited with playing a key role behind the scenes at City during their unprecedented domestic treble-winning campaign last season.

He said his goodbyes to the champions on Thursday morning, addressing the whole squad, though the manner of Arsenal’s approach is believed to have annoyed City bosses. Arteta met with members of Arsenal’s hierarchy at his home on Sunday evening following their clash at the Emirates – though City chiefs were not informed of the looming advances despite being in the directors’ box together earlier in the day. A seven-figure compensation payment will be made in order to compete the move, while Arteta is believed to have been handed a £5million-a-year contract.

Guardiola’s right-hand man came close to landing the Arsenal role in the summer of 2018 following Arsene Wenger’s departure, but the club’s board eventually settled on Emery as the legendary Frenchman’s successor. However, the former PSG boss failed to build on some early promising signs and was sacked last month following a miserable run of one win in nine matches, culminating in a shambolic Europa League defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Results have hardly improved under interim manager Freddie Ljungberg, who has managed just one win from five matches at the helm and saw his side comprehensively outclassed by City during last Sunday’s 3-0 drubbing at the Emirates. Arsenal have won just one of their last 14 matches in all competitions – and are as close to the relegation zone as the top four – with Arteta facing a monumental task to turn their season around, beginning against Everton on Saturday.
