Covid-19 Patient Tried to Escape from the Isolation Center

A coronavirus patient who ran away from the isolation centers in Taraba state has been caught and returned to the facility where positive patients are kept for isolation.

The announcement was made by the Taraba state’s Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the State’s COVID-19 technical committee, Dr. Innocent Vakkai on Monday, May 4.

The Commissioner debunked claims of faculties and worship centers reopening, as he also disclosed that contact tracing has commenced curtailing the spread of the virus within the state.

He said;

”Our schools and worship centers remain closed while members of the general public are urged to watch all precautionary measures outlined for safety during the 2-day window allowed for movement within the state.”

Vakkai averred that the state in which currently 8 confirmed cases of Coronavirus wouldn’t accommodate Almajiris who haven’t been tested by officials of the state they’re sent from.

In other words, the Chairman of the Medical Guild, Dr. Oluwajimi Sodipo, revealed at a media briefing on Monday in Lagos, that 16 doctors have tested positive to COVID-19 in Lagos state.
