Chelsea has completed the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao for a world-record fee of £72million.

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a seven-year deal at the Blues and will be the club’s No 1 following the departure of Thibaut Courtois, who has sealed a £35million move to Real Madrid on a six-year deal.

Kepa’s deal now makes him the most expensive goalkeeper in the World, followed by Brazil‘s Alisson who Liverpool paid £66.8m for last month.

On moving to Stamford Bridge, Kepa said: ‘It’s a very important decision for me, for my career, and also for my personal life.

‘So many things attracted me to the club, all the titles the club has won, the other players, the city, the English Premier League.

‘It’s an accumulation of things, and I am very glad Chelsea has decided to trust me and to take me in as well.’

Director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘Kepa is a talent we have admired for a long time and we are extremely excited about his arrival.

‘He has already demonstrated fantastic quality and consistency and will be a big part of any success Chelsea have in the coming years.

‘His long-term contract reflects the belief we have in him and we look ahead to the coming seasons with an enormous sense of optimism.’

Manchester United Made final Decision Over Martial, William Swap Deal

Manchester United have kicked against swapping Anthony Martial for Chelsea’s Willian.
The two Premier League giants were in talks for a possible swap deal involving both stars but United’s hierarchy has said it won’t happen this summer.

Chelsea forward, Willian has consistently been on Manchester United’s radar.

Jose Mourinho’s side has just five days to bring in new recruits but, so far, their top targets are proving elusive.
And United are unlikely to sign the Chelsea forward this summer.
United and Chelsea have explored a swap deal that would involve Martial moving to Stamford Bridge as Willian’s replacement.
The France international is determined to quit Old Trafford after two years of toiling under Mourinho’s tutelage.
Express Sports reports that Manchester United chose to walk away from the Chelsea deal.
The club’s hierarchy thought that, from a business perspective, the transfer would not be beneficial.
Martial is just 22 with Willian seven years older.
And United chiefs reportedly thought it would be unwise to swap a young talent for experienced head – particularly with a Premier League rival.

Chelsea’s English defender John Terry gestures to the crowd as he is substituted off in the 26th minute during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge in London on May 21, 2017. Terry will be leaving the club has been associated with for 22 years at the end of the season.

Chelsea legend John Terry’s final appearance at Stamford Bridge ended with his team-mates forming a guard of honour as he exited in the 26th minute of the Premier League clash with Sunderland.

The 36-year-old — the time of his premature departure chiming with his shirt number — looked visibly moved when he was replaced by Gary Cahill, who has also stepped in and skippered the team on the pitch to the title this season.

Terry — who leaves Chelsea at the end of this season after 22 years with them — also exited to a standing ovation from the fans who despite some off the pitch scandals is revered by them.

Terry, though, will return to the pitch after the match to lift the Premier League trophy, the 15th piece of silverware he has lifted and may get to also raise the FA Cup if Chelsea beat Arsenal next Saturday.

Former Tottenham, Barcelona and England striker Gary Lineker was quick to take to twitter to pay tribute to the central defender.

“John Terry’s magnificent Chelsea career ends after 26 minutes of his final match. A great defender. A real leader. And a winner,” tweeted Lineker.
